Kabbalistic compilation. (BPH M 406a)

Manuscript on paper, 17th-18th century, Ashkenazic semi cursive script.

The first part of the volume offers a collection of brief treatises according to Lurianic Kabbalah, containing:

1 Ff. 1r-28v Limmudei Atziluth by Israel Sarug. The manuscript includes the glosses, one of them attributed in this manuscript and in some others to Ezra [Fano?]. The text was printed in 1897.

2 Ff. 28v-32v A short anonymous treatise beginning with an exposition on the Tefillin worn by God.

3 Ff. 32v-34v A note on the secret of Ammon and Moab.

4 Ff. 34v-37r Hayyim Vital's Derushei ha-Melakhim or Derush Shevirat ha-Kelim: on the broken vessels. Many manuscript copies and editions extant.

5 Ff. 37r-38v a short prayer from the Zohar, beginning Atifa be ketifa, to be recited before partaking in conjugal duty with a long commentary.

6 Ff. 38v-39v Perush Birkat ha-Levanah. Commentary on the blessing over the New Moon, by Israel Sarug. Edited at the end of Mevo Shearim (Jerusalem 1904).

7 Ff. 39v-41r Sod ha-Margela, Ma'amar Olam Kattan, based on the teachings of Israel Sarug.

8 Ff. 41r-44v Derush A"T B"H by Hayyim Vital.

9 Ff. 44v-46v Perush otto otto. Commentary on the spelling of the word Otto (Genesis 37:18). Includes the story about Nahman ben Samuel who visited the tomb of Rashi (Rabbi Solomon ben Isaac) where the spirit of Rashi was revealed to him. With the commentary of Issachar Ber of Kremnitz. The story was published by Abraham Rappaport in his book Etan ha-Etzrahi (Ostrog 1796), ff. 41-42.

10 Ff. 46v-52r: Ma'amar Sha'ar ha-Miluim or Ma'amar ha-Miluim by Menahem Azariah of Fano. Printed in Aleknits, 1767.

11 Ff. 52v-67v: [Ma'ayan ha-Chokhmah] (Spring of Wisdom) by Asher Jacob Abraham Klemenkes Yaffe. Attributed in the printed editions to Isaac Luria.

12 Ff. 68v-69v: Seder ha-Atziluth be-kitzur muflag- on the Aziluth (emanation) by Samson Bak. At the end (ff. 68v-69v) a commentary on the text (bibliographically unknown).
