De alchimia opuscula [and] Rosarium philosophorum.
Frankfurt, Cyriacus Jacob, 1550

First edition, and the first in a series of alchemical anthologies, dedicated by the printer to Otto Heinrich, Count Palatine, a noted practitioner of alchemy and an adherent of Paracelsus. The Alchimia opuscula includes both late medieval anonymous alchemical treatises as well as works attributed to Aristotle, Avicenna, Ricardus Anglicus and Lull. The coloured-in woodcut on the title-page recurs in the companion part, Rosarium philosophorum, where it introduces a poem in German in an otherwise chiefly Latin anthology.
