Title information

The catalogue focuses on the reception of Hermes Trismegistus from the Renaissance through the seventeenth century, also showing the remarkable extent to which Hermetic ideas had trickled through the medieval period even before the publication of the Corpus Hermeticum, thanks to a wide dissemination of the Latin Asclepius and medieval pseudo-Hermetic works such as Liber XXIV philosophorum. Sebastiano Gentile described the 30 exhibits from the Biblioteca Laurenziano, Carlos Gilly did the same for the 63 exhibits from the Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica.
